DESCRIPTION	A majestic setting of a majestic text. Paul's assurance that "Neither death, nor life, nor messenger of Heaven... nor anything in God's whole world" can come between us and the love of God in Christ builds to a triumphant conclusion. The text may need a bit of introduction, since it begins with, "In face of all this, what is there left to say?" (Romans 8:31) Paul concluded Romans 7 with the agonizing cry, "Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of sin and death?" (Romans 7:24) And then he turns it right around with, "Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 7:25) He then goes on to elaborate the triumph of Christ over the principle of the Law - and out of that comes the text for this anthem. It may seem a little extreme to require so much setup, but I guarantee you, it's worth it. I don't think I've ever seen so many people in our congregation so deeply moved by one piece of music as by this powerful reassurance of God's love.
